Reverend Hill has long believed that Christ did not intend for His church to be divided along, theological, denominational, and doctrinal differences. We are all as Christ-followers called to fulfill the great commission.
This is the instruction of the resurrected Jesus Christ to his disciples to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world. The most famous version of the great commission is in Matthew 28:16–20, where on a mountain in Galilee Jesus calls on his followers to make disciples of and baptize all nations in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
It was with this sincere belief in mind and at the urging of the Holy Spirit that Rev. Hill founded the Harbingers of Truth Christian Church.
Paul said it best in 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (TLB)
Our bodies have many parts, but the many parts make up only one body when they are all put together. So it is with the "body" of Christ.
Each of us is a part of the one body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But the Holy Spirit has fitted us all together into one body. We have been baptized into Christ’s body by the one Spirit, and have all been given that same Holy Spirit.
The Mission of The Harbingers of Truth Christian Church is to put aside differences in religions and find areas of agreement with all people of Christian faith and followers of Jesus Christ to unite in Christ's love and fulfill the great commission.
What is a Harbinger?
A Harbinger is a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another, we are Harbingers of Truth because we announce the approach of the one true God, Jesus Christ. Another definition of harbinger according to Merriam Webster is one that pioneers in or initiates a major change.
Why did you choose the Name Harbingers of Truth?
There are many religions, denominations, and different theologies in our world today, God's word tells us that many will be deceived. Luke 21:8 (KJV) “ And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” The only truth we can rely upon today is God’s word, and if we are not grounded in His word we can be deceived by the secular world, false religions, and false prophets around us. Our sole purpose is to announce the approach of the one true God Jesus Christ and the truth He has given us in His holy infallible Word, the Bible.
We have respect for all points of view and are not judges. All who seek to know Him are welcome by us, however, we at The Harbingers Of Truth Christian Church also believe that what’s true in His Word, is true no matter who is against it or how uncomfortable it may make us feel. We also believe that what the bible says is wrong, is wrong no matter who is for it.
Within our door, you will be loved as Jesus loves us, without condemnation yet we will not water down God's Word to make you feel more comfortable. Like John the Baptist we call all to repentance in Jesus Christ and are foretellers (harbingers) of truth. We accept you as you are because we t0o are sinners saved by grace. There is no ambiguity in God’s Word and our wish is to lead others in a Study of God’s word in a nondenominational one hundred percent biblical-based teaching. In short, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth as given to each of us by GOD!
Our mission is twofold.
1. To bring God's love and truth to a lost and dying world and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the study of God's Holy, inerrant, infallible Word given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so that whosoever will, might be saved!
2. To put aside differences in religions and find areas of agreement with all people of Christian faith and followers of Jesus Christ to unite in Christ love and fulfill the great commission.
